Deborah Garza Receives Prestigious “Lifetime Achievement Award” from Global Competition Review (GCR).

Rule Garza Howley’s founding partner and vice-chair Deborah Garza received the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award from Global Competition Review (GCR) last night, in recognition of her more than four-decade career as one of the world’s leading antitrust attorneys.

The GCR Lifetime Achievement Award is a prestigious award presented annually to one or two outstanding competition lawyers, academics, economists, enforcers, and judges nominated by peers within the global competition law community for their contributions to the development of competition law throughout their careers. Deb was this year’s sole recipient of the award.

Deb received the award for a distinguished career of leadership and achievements in private practice and during her years of service in key government enforcement and policy roles. Those roles include serving as Deputy Assistant Attorney General and Acting Assistant Attorney General of the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Justice Department, Chair of the Antitrust Modernization Commission, a bi-partisan commission that advised the President on the state of U.S. antitrust enforcement, and Chair of the American Bar Association Antitrust Law Section. She has testified on several occasions before House and Senate Committees on antitrust-related issues.

We congratulate Deb on this tremendous and well-deserved honor and are thrilled about what the future holds for her and our firm.
